When you sit at a computer week after week, stress builds up. A monthly massage can ease the pain of knotted muscles.

“Getting the stress out” recommends a monthly massage:

“I have a lot of regular clients who come once a month or once every six weeks for general stress relief from their jobs,” said Shannon Sachvie, massage therapist at Static Hair and Body Salon.

“Massages promote circulation, they relieve stress with relaxation, increase oxygen and mobility, decrease muscle spasms and promote overall good health.”

In addition to getting a monthly massage, consider self-massage, with essential oils daily.

Giving your lower back, arms and shoulders a gentle aromatherapy massage at the end of the day can promote relaxation and restful sleep.

Meditation is the perfect way to get stress relief. It’s often been described as the space between your thoughts.

It takes some practice in meditation before you realize that yes, indeed, there is a gap between your thoughts.

Once you get to that stage, meditation really begins, and you can go to that meditative space at any time to relieve stress.

Mantra meditation to relieve stress

Chanting a mantra silently to yourself is an easy meditation that anyone can do.

Sit quietly, relax, and repeat a single word or phrase to yourself. You could use: Peace, Relax, Let Go…

Or choose a Sanskrit mantra, like the Ganesha mantra: Om Gum Ganapatayei Namaha.

Japanese can now buy stress-relief milk — for 5,000 yen per bottle reports: “A Japanese dairy company on Thursday announced the launch of super-premium milk for stressed-out adults — at the price of 43 dollars for a bottle of 900 millilitres, or one quart.

Tokyo-based Nakazawa Foods will launch the ‘Adult Milk’ line of products in October targetting ‘adults who live in a stressful society,’ the company said in a statement.”

There’s no need to spend big on fancy milk for stress relief. All milk contains Tryptophan, which is an essential amino acid involved in human nutrition, and is known to have a calming and relaxing effect. So just go drink a nice, soothing glass of milk, and it will help you to unwind.
