Office stress relief is what you need to improve your productivity and feel more positive about your job and career. Here are four easy exercises you can do without leaving your desk or getting funny looks from your coworkers.

Trunk twists. Sit as tall as possible at your desk (pretend your boss is holding your head up as if you were a marionette). Rotate your shoulders up, back then down (as if you were trying to hold an apple between your shoulder blades). Rest your left hand behind your left hip and slowly twist to that side. Hold for a slow count of ten then return to your starting position. Repeat on the right side.

Chin lifts. Again, sit tall at your desk and rotate your shoulders up, back and then down. Keep your face forward. Then slowly lower your chin until it is resting against your chest. Hold for a slow count of 10 then raise your chin. Now raise your chin up until you are looking at the ceiling. Hold for a slow count of 10, and then lower to your starting position. Repeat as often as necessary to relieve tension in your neck.

Ear dips. Start by sitting tall at your desk with your shoulders positioned as if you were trying to hold an apple between your shoulder blades. Face forward. Slowly lower your head to the left as if you were trying to pin your left ear to left shoulder. Hold for a slow count of 10, and then return to your starting position. Repeat on the right side. Repeat this office stress relief exercise as often as you need to.

While you are doing these first three exercises, you may want to close your eyes and visualize a calm scene, such as a peaceful mountain lake or a quiet country road. Or, you can post a soothing picture on your bulletin board or wall or as a computer screen saver and gaze on it to refocus your thoughts. You will be amazed at how much calmer you will feel.

Play catch. Crumble up a sheet of paper into a ball and toss it in the air. Catch it. This is a great office stress reliever because it gets the whole body involved. Plus it focuses your mind on something else but the task at hand. Everyone needs a chance to play and this is one easy, quick way to do it. If you can, invest in one of those basketball hoops that fit over a wastebasket and use it. Pretty soon, your office mates may challenge you to a quick pick-up game: a new way to look at teamwork.

Of course, if things are really tense, the best office stress relief would be to get up and walk away from your desk, even if it’s just a quick stroll to the restroom or cafeteria. However, going outside would be the best option because it allows you to get some fresh air into your system. Take as long as you need to calm down.

Office stress relief exercises don’t have to be exotic, mystical movements. They can be done inconspicuously and provide almost instant relief, helping you to be more relaxed and more productive. Try them today.

Everyone has had a boss that they wish they could kick in the rear or tell them how one really feels.  Some people quit a job for no other reason than they hate the person that they work for.  There is now no reason to get that mad or quit the job people have.

There are now stress relief dolls that are made to look like what a boss might look like.  It’s called the boss stress doll and it costs around $20.  When someone squeezes his neck the doll tells people what the doll thinks about them.  If the neck is really strangled, the eyes pop out and the cheeks turn red while the arms and legs flail.

There are some other dolls that are used as therapy and role playing.  For children, stress relief dolls are a great way to explain things to them and for them to show how they feel and what possible fears they might be feeling.  Some of the dolls are made to look like doctors and others are in hospital gowns.  There are even small IV tubes and other medical equipment that the children can use to play with to prepare them for a medical procedure.  It allows the family to really know what the little ones are going through.  It also lets the children know what will happen and that they are loved and cared for.

Different Stress Relief Dolls

There are other dolls that are put together with Velcro so that they can be ripped apart but not destroyed.  It’s a great way to reduce stress and there are many different dolls so a person might buy many different stress relief dolls for the different people they want to rip apart!  What’s great about this concept is that one can go home and take out all of their frustrations on which ever doll that they want to.  Tear its arms and legs off and if still angry, rip the head off also.  It makes the person feel better and they haven’t broken any laws in the process.

Stress relief dolls can be an effective tool in helping people deal with anger and the stress that anger develops into.  It sounds kind of cheesy but try one sometime and notice that when you’re through, the stress is much less than before.  What seemed like a mountain that couldn’t be crossed turns into a hill to walk over.  The stress is still present but the person can now adapt and conquer the stress as they go through the day.

Popping the bubbles on bubble wrap is a displacement activity which can give you some stress relief. It’s fun.

The destruction, annihilation or other anger machination of inanimate objects has long been a rather inefficient form of stress relief.  Slamming doors, putting fists through walls are both examples of rather shortly lived attempts at stress relief.  These may feel good momentarily, but the stress returns very quickly. The use of bubble wrap for stress relief, through the popping of the little pockets or bubbles, is an innovative idea that provides some real opportunity for true stress relief.

First, the use of bubble wrap for stress relief does not involve any real use of drugs unless you pursue the bubble popping to a point of requiring ibuprofen for soreness of your popping fingers!  The use of bubble wrap for stress relief does not require visits to a gym or guru.  The continued popping noise and the feeling that it generates naturally reduces your stress and soon you will realize that nothing else matters but the rhythmic popping of the bubbles in front of you.

At some point in the near future, many spas and fashionable clinics will begin to offer the bubble wrap.  Once this occurs, the use of bubble wrap for stress relief will become ubiquitous.  Imagine being wrapped, to a degree that is comfortable for you, in bubble wrap and then beginning your meditation in your favorite sauna or steam machine.  As time unfolds, the heat and sweat reduce your tissues, clean your pores and help you melt away an inch or two.

Using bubble wrap as the wrapping material, enables the use of the bubble wrap for stress relief at the same time.  The patient may pop away and create that unique rhythm, that they alone feel, that melts away the stress.

Bubble wrap for stress relief is by far one of the most novel modern methods of treatment for stress.

Does it work?

If you’re feeling stressed, go and get some exercise. Even walking around your office can relieve your mind. Breathe. Do some yoga. When you move, you relieve tension, which is the goal of popping bubbles. Doing yoga will do more for your health, however.
